MARK TOOHEY

Resident tennis coach Mark Toohey has had a colourful coaching career over the last 20 years, launching his career in 1998 by coaching at a number of private schools around Brisbane.  Over the next 7 years, Mark ran numerous tennis clinics and coaching programs at Brisbane Girls Grammar Gregory Terrace, St Josephs, St Aidain’s, and John Paul College, just to name a few.

In 2003, after establishing himself around the greater Brisbane area, Mark started the New Farm Tennis Club, managing and coaching, a position he held for the next two years.

Then in 2005, Mark’s love of travel took him overseas where he coached at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, in Wimbledon, London England. Mark has also coached abroad in Singapore, Portugal, Thailand and France.

After several years Mark returned from overseas to coach on the Gold Coast before relocating back to Brisbane to coach at the Brisbane International (Qld Tennis Centre).

In 2015, Mark moved into Kangaroo Point’s Dockside Precinct and approached Club Management with the idea of setting up an onsite tennis program and community social tennis.  This successful association with the Club has established Mark as the onsite resident tennis coach over the last 2 years and he continues to receive strong support from the local Brisbane tennis playing community.

Mark’s friendly and approachable manner coupled with his love for the game makes him the perfect coach to get you in the game!
